ABOUT

I was four years old when my film-loving mother took me to see my first film — STAR WARS: THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK.

I was eight when I picked up my dad’s Super 8mm camera for the first time, ran outside, and told my brother to crash his trike into a fence so I could capture it on film.

At 17, I wrote and directed my first feature film, collaborating with fellow students from Tamalpais High School in Marin County, California.

Those formative moments shaped who I am and why you’re reading this today.

From 1997 to 2000, I studied Professional Screenwriting for Film & Television at RMIT in Melbourne. In 2004, after a brief stint in new media, I co-founded a production company with my brother, Trevor Holcomb, a highly accomplished film editor who has edited and produced much of my work. Since then, I’ve built a career writing, directing, and producing across television commercials, branded content, music videos, and short films.

In 2015, I wrote and directed FLAT DADDY, a Screen NSW-funded short film starring Kat Stewart (UNDERBELLY, OFFSPRING). The film premiered at the Academy Award-accredited St Kilda Film Festival, earning me a Best Director nomination, and later screened at Palm Springs International ShortFest, Adelaide Film Festival, and Flickerfest. It was also nominated for Best Short Fiction Film at the 5th AACTA Awards. (You can watch the short on this website.)

In 2019, my next short film, TREETMENT, was selected as a Tropfest 27 finalist, further cementing my passion for bold, character-driven storytelling.

I’m currently developing multiple feature film and television projects, including PINBALL, a gritty Australian crime drama, and CASTLE BRAVO, a horror-thriller inspired by real events.

As I approach my fifth decade, my focus remains on crafting compelling, cinematic, and character-driven stories.
